Laura Mercier Official Opening @ Sunway Pyramid

Over 40 young and pretty ladies (including myself *cough cough* XD) attended the official opening of Laura Mercier. The kiosk has been opened for quite some times this year though, if you’re a regular shopper at Pyramid.

It must be every girl’s dream to own the whole set of those make up! Okay maybe not every girl, but girls who are vain like me. Teehee.

Finger food were served by Delicious. They even pampered us with wine and champagne!!! Red wine and Moet rose my favorite ^^

Seoul Day 7 - Spending our last day at Myeongdong

So sad this would be the last post on my Korea trip! I remember that devastating feeling on our last day knowing that we had to leave that lovely city in a few hours’ time; no more Kimchi and awesome street food, no more shopping at Edae for cosmetics and pretty clothes that say “Made in Korea”, no more clubbing at NB and dancing with Seungri (!!!), no more chilly weather to even complain about! Ugh. Especially after all the fun we had during the past few days of the trip, the thought of leaving was just so depressing!

Had Korean BBQ for our last meal in Seoul.

Pardon me for not having my make up on. Wouldn’t want to have layers of them while sleeping in the plane. Don’t you just love huge glasses? They do a great job in reducing the flaws and the illusion that my facial features are actually symmetrical, which to be honest, they are not!

Be excited people, for the biggest music festival is coming town on March this year!

If you don't already know, the upcoming Future Music Festival Asia originated from Australia and for the first time, will be heading into Asia or to be more specific, KL. This will happen on March 17 (Saturday) at the Sepang International Circuit from 2PM - 3AM. Yup, that's right, that's over 12 hours of non-stop beat-thumping music across four electrifying stages!

This is easily going to be one of the largest music fests to have ever hit South East Asia's shores and it's definitely going to be EPIC! Seoul Day 6 - Nam Dae Mun Market

Our second last day was supposed to be devoted to sightseeing at Gyeongbokgong Palace. But instead, we were sidetracked as we got distracted by Nam Dae Mun market which we didn’t intended to visit but happened to pass by.

One entire row of restaurants located at a back lane. But if you were to hunt for food, I wouldn’t recommend you to eat here as these places are targeting tourists like us.

Food on display looked tempting but really, they aren’t that awesome.

We simply picked one restaurant. If I could remember correctly, the prices ere are slightly more expensive too.

Here we are, Nam Dae Mun market! It’s similar to Chatuchak market in Bangkok, except smaller. Lots of shops and stalls selling household stuff, souvenirs for tourists, accessories etc.

We got ourselves earrings and some awesome Big Bang merchandise!!! I’ve got Big Bang calendar and TOP’s posters all over my room now! Can’t possibly find these in Malaysia! *sheds tears of joy*

Look at this greedy girl! Can barely hold on to all the food. HAHA. The corn there is really different! To our surprise, they’re really chewy in a good way. So unlike the usual corn, they don’t get stuck on our teeth even when we take a big bite straight from the stick.

Went back to the hotel and got ready for NB2. It was our last night in Seoul, our last chance to club so it had to be epic! Anyway here’s some entertainment for you. Another lamp, another lamp, another lamp, another lamp. LMAO!

CNY with the Loves

Semester 4 starts today. As usual, the first week of class is full of crap, what with the lecturer going through the course outline and ended up telling his mundane life stories. Just had my first lesson this morning, and now I have plenty of time to spend until the next lecture at 3.30pm.

Thought I should do a short update before killing my time by reading the unfinished Harry Potter. I’ve been taking forever to finish the Order of the Phoenix. Every time I thought of reading the book, I get distracted by 9gag which is making me more idiotic and less intelligent. Wtfreak.

On another day at Katie’s beautiful garden. We all decided to wear heels that day. So used to ahbeng and bangla on the road whistling at us we don’t give a damn anymore.

Seoul Day 5 - Epic Shopping

Everywhere in Seoul, you’ll see Paris Baguette – a brightly-lit bakery with a wide variety of delicious looking pastries and cakes on display. It became one of or must-visit spot ever since the beginning. So on Day 5, we went to the nearest Paris Baguette for brunch.

Cutest coffee cup ever with Japanese costume! Somehow it made the latte tastes more bearable. Not sure whether it was the effect of the previous clubbing night or the latte really tasted like alcohol. Yikes!

The sausage which I assume is pork is so much better than our sausage back here! Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. Malaysia, Y U NO HAVE PORK SAUSAGE BUN???

Egg and ham sandwich was yummy too! In fact everything there was yummy!

Proceeded to shop at Ewha Women University Fashion Street again after brunch. For the number of shops and the amount of cheap clothings, it has defeated all the other shopping destinations and became our favourite shopping spot.

Already bought one big bag of clothes from the first shop we entered! Wondered how the day was going to end. Tsk tsk.

The usual coffee break halfway through our shopping session. This time we tried out C’lucy.

They sell plenty of cake!

That awesome feeling when you temporarily escaped the winter and pampered yourself with a cup of hot coffee inside the warm café. I never knew that feeling until my Seoul trip.

Resting before continuing our mission. Gotta love the wifi in every café there otherwise I would be lost without Twitter and FB. Wtfreak.

Meanwhile these are our shopping bags. Madness! Now I remember why we needed a coffee break aside from the cold. I just couldn’t handle the heavy shopping bags anymore!

I know it’s gross to say this but we always stained our gloves eating all these street food. The weather was just so damn cold we couldn’t possibly remove our gloves without our freezing our fingers! But it wasn’t exactly easy gripping hold of the snacks when we had our gloves on. Haiya wait till you go there and experience it yourself then you’ll know.

For dinner, we decided to enter a restaurant which was almost full. So many customers, for sure it would be good eh?

Whenever the waitress walked away, Katie would attempt to stir and cook it, then the waitress would come back after a while and do it instead, making her feel guilty for attempting to cook. But I told her the waitress must be the one feeling guilty thinking that she didn’t do a good job serving the customers lo. Teehee.

Such humongous portion! We almost finished it cause it was so yummy! I’m not a chicken person but this one was tender and very well-marinated. Chicken has never tasted better!

More shopping after dinner.

This time we were at Hongdae – an area around Hongik University which was livelier after dark.

Somehow we ended up at Hello Kitty Café which we failed to locate the other day.

Pink pink pink everything pink!!! I’m not a Hello Kitty fanatic but still, I love this café!

But for a concept café like this, of course it would be pricey. We didn’t enter though since it was closing soon and we were still full after that giant wok of chicken rameon.

When I first saw this I was like holy shit is that a wolf?! But then it was so fluffy and cute and tame and all omgosh I just wanna cuddle it! The photo isn’t doing it any justice cause it looked so much bigger in real. Haven’t seen a dog like tat before.

Oh by the way, strawberry milk actually tastes good and not even a bit like the cough syrup I had when I was a kid.

Really, I have no idea how I managed to buy so much but I must say I am really proud of myself. HAHAHAHA. What’s more, none of them are impulse purchase and I like them all equally!

Katie’s purchase might seem very little in comparison but the fact is, she bought quite a lot too, just less crazier than me wtfreak. Mostly black because that’s her style at the moment. Teehee.

That’s all for Day 5. One day my epic shopping would become legend. . .waitforit. . . dary! LOL.

It seems that iBilik is mainly targeting Malaysian. Here’s an additional note for my foreign readers which is irrelevant to Malaysians: Bilik = room in Malay language in case you’re wondering.

There are a few specific places listed on the main page to ease our browsing, with the bolded ones being the most popular I suppose. You can find places from all over Malaysia in the list. If you’re lazy to go through the entire list, simply use the search function provided. Pretty simple and convenient if you already have an idea what exactly you’re looking for.

Not that I need a room at the moment, but I kinda checked out the rooms for rent from this website. 3351 rooms are available for rent in Bandar Sunway! The list goes on and on with the latest posts occupying the top.

Once you find the room you’re interested, simply click in and look for the contact information. Make further arrangement and finally seal the deal! Simple as that.

Tried searching for my apartment and there were 100 over posts that appeared. The rentals offered are around the same range of my current rental. Very reasonable prices, so no worries if you doubt the website. Of course, if you wanna negotiate for a better price, you can always do it personally with your potential landlord.

Besides rooms for rent, iBilik also offers short term rentals with daily instead of monthly price quoted. You might wanna check out the home stay if you’re going to places like Cameron Highlands and Langkawi.

Hey peeps! I must apologize for the lack of update. Have been slacking my ass watching series in my bedroom all day long and recently I’ve just transferred plenty more series from le friend which would probably last me for quite a while (also, turning me into a couch potato anti-social introvert wtfreak).

I hope all of you had a lovely Valentine? Mine was great. No further elaboration needed but just a hint, Valentine seems so much better when I’m single. I know this sounds ridiculous especially with single people out there complaining about it being #foreveralone day, but really, foreveralone is just a matter of will! You might expect me to have gone through some romantic Valentine celebration in the past throughout my previous relationships but nah, they weren’t even worthy of being reminisced. The ex-es must have been lousy. Yea either that or me being a high-expectation perfectionist like I’ve always been.

Enough of showing off! The whole purpose of this post is to do a write up for 2 movie screening I’ve attended this week.

Beauty and the Beast 3D at GSC 1U on Monday.

After watching Journey 2 iMax at TGV Pyramid the other day, I must say all other 3D movies are rather disappointing. If you’re looking forward to the 3D effect, screw it! But aside from that the movie was classic lah. Like the old Beauty & the Beast. Nothing new in fact. All the fairy tale magical crap and happily ever after. You know how it goes.

This morning I watched This Means War at GSC Mid Valley. The best movie this year so far!

So many funny scenes it totally cracked me up! It’s about 2 spies who happened to be best partners falling in love with the same girl. Then started the competition and war between the 2 rivals.

I have always been a fan of Reese Witherspoon after watching Legally Blonde! I know saying that makes a bimbo. But don’t you think she’s awesome? Teehee.

Chris Pine and Tom Hardy are so cute!!! If I were her I wouldn’t know who to choose either! Tom is British, and she thought that was his weakness. Wtfreak??? How is being British a weakness??? British guys are charming and I would die to date one okay!!!!

Anyway I don’t normally say this but this time you gotta watch the movie! It’s awesome and you won’t regret it, I swear! Even the ending made me laughed like siao XD

Will be attending my third movie screening tonight – The Iron Lady played by Meryl Streep. Hopefully it’s not boring.

Seoul Day 4 - Coex Mall & NB Club

*don’t miss out my Seoul awesome clubbing experience at the end of the post!*

On day 4 of our Korea trip, Katie and I went to Gangnam, the rich area where all the celebrities dwell, or so I heard. It wasn’t easy getting to Gangnam as the journey took around an hour, during which we had to cross a river.

Departed from City Hall subway station as usual. Had to do an interchange at one of the stops.

Upon reaching Gangnam, I regretted for not packing any expensive looking coats to the trip. Never been more underdressed before! Seeing those young Korean girls walking down the streets with their exquisite looking furry jacket and leather boots, I felt like an insignificant village peasant visiting the upper class of residence! To make it worse, all of them have such nice hair! You know those Korean-style hair with cute little curls only at the end of their hair? Dammit, I can never blow my hair to achieve such perfect style! :(

Gangnam is indeed meant for the rich. Along the street scattered some individual buildings of Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Tory Burch, Coach, DKNY etc, shops that I wouldn’t dare step in, especially not when I was so poorly dressed. As we walked down the street, there were plenty of luxury car show rooms ie. Ferrari, Maserati, Mercedez-Benz, Peugeot etc. Of course, luxurious cars are commonplace around that area. Every 5 seconds, we saw a rich Korean tai-tai clad in fur driving past in her beautifully polished classy ride. Makes us wanna marry a rich Korean, settle down in Gangnam and being chauffeured everyday too! Especially during winter like this when the weather was under 0 degree! Dammit.

Despite it being a rich area, we had an exceptionally yummy yet affordable Korean meal at one of the restaurants. It wasn’t an easy task picking an eating place since there were so many of them and most of them don’t provide English menu. In most of the restaurants we went, the waiters would assume we were Japanese. That particular time, we talked to them in English, then they asked if we could speak Chinese. LOL. Apparently there are a lot of Koreans who can speak Chinese in a strong China accent due to the considerable presence of China tourists.

Steamed egg which tasted extraordinary! The soup underneath gathered the essence of prawn, squid and crabstick. A hundred times nicer than chawanmushi I swear! I can just survive with that and a bowl or rice alone everyday! (7000 won)

It was a long long journey. We came across a Gorilla.

Got lost at some quiet back lane, at the same time freezing like 2 homeless orphans.

And arrived at my kitchen located at the quiet back lane *proud*

Touring around with no knowledge of the place, accompanied only by a piece of map. We oughtta be 2 big brave girls. Teehee.

Guess where we passed by? SM Town, where celebrities like Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, TVXQ and SHINee were born! (not literally born of course) Looked rather dodgy from the outside, but can you imagine what amazing daily routine was going on inside that little building???

Found Chrome Hearts, finally! Gosh. After all the trouble, I told her she’d better buy something. Managed to snap a photo before the sales personnel came out and stopped us. Yerrr not even allowed to take photos outside :(

Yea, so she bought something. A Chrome Hearts tank top that cost like 160,000 won which was almost RM500! Dafuq. Her verdict: it makes her look extremely skinny with invisible tummy! *speechless* no wait, actually one of the reasons is because Park Bom owns it too? That shall explain it all, crazy Bommie fanatic!

Initially it was a group trip of 4 that include me, Katie, Jing Jing and her boyfriend. But her boyfriend wanted to stay in a classier and pricier hotel which was 2 stations away from ours. Somehow Katie and I forgot to rent a phone at the airport, and unlike Thailand, South Korea does not simply sell sim card to any foreigner. So without a local number, we couldn’t contact Jing and her boyfriend. The only time we met up was at Coex Mall when I had to insert a 500 won coin into the public phone.

It was a brief meet up session. Had our usual coffee break at Café Pascucci – best one so far!

Caramel latte and tiramisu. No photo with Jing because I FORGOT! Ugh. And we kinda assumed that there would be a second meet up but it didn’t happen *sad*

Bought some Etude House product for like the 5^th time. Cost me RM200 this time. Wtfreak.

Took the subway back to the hotel to prepare for our first clubbing night in Seoul!

Before I start rambling on our clubbing experience, let me show you Katie’s purchase of the day. Mine was just a paper bag full of Etude House’s products so didn’t bother to take a photo of it.

You know how every time you step into Zouk and you’re like ahh the same music, the same drink, the same people over and over again? Well clubbing in Seoul was definitely a whole new exciting experience for me! It’s the kinda feeling that oh no one knows me here I can go crazy all night long and not worried about bumping into familiar faces or being the central topic of back stabbing friends! And those extremely hopeful thoughts that any minute you would meet a hot Korean dude who looks like one of those boys from Korean drama! *drooooooools*

But compared to our summer-all-year-long country, clubbing during winter wasn’t an easy task. One does not simply walk on the street with bare legs during winter, not when the temperature was below zero Celsius. On the other hand, wearing thick denim pants and taking them off in the club was too much a hassle. So our only solution: leggings. Even under the protection of leggings, my legs still shivered like mad under the cold. Of course, the club entrance provides a big nylon bag at 3000 won for us to keep our winter coat and stuff.

It was a Friday night. It took us some great effort to finally squeeze our way through the crowded subway exit at Hongdae. It was past eleven, but the street was lively! Our pouches weren’t big enough to fit our phones, so all we had was passport and cash. With the aid of the subway station’s map and a station officer who could barely speak English, we found our way to Club NB, which was located down the street of Hongik University! Queued up, paid 15,000 won (RM45) cover charge, striped off our puffy coats and ready to rock the night!

Apparently on weekends, for the 15,000 won we paid, we get a wristband that grants admission into NB1, NB2 and Harlem club which were opposite each other. In other words, when you get bored of one club, you can always hop to another at no cost. Except the only cost is probably the nerve breaking cold you have to suffer on the way from one club to another with your skimpy clubbing outfit! Seriously, you can never imagine how fcking cold it was when I ran to the opposite street wearing my thin sleeveless clubbing dress! Every step I took was a big success. Along the way, Katie even risked slipping and falling on ice that formed on the ground.

Reason we chose NB as our top clubbing destination despite negative comments of it being crowded: it belongs to YG Entertainment! Apart from the usual English club songs, they played Korean songs (from YG, of course!) like:

2NE1’s I am the Best. Omaigwd. Katie’s favourite.

and Big Bang’s High High!!!

These were all the great music played at NB1. But despite the good music, the guys there were rather disappointing. All CMI! Whatever happened to all the hot Korean dudes??? We stayed around the dance floor hoping to catch some eye candy, but all we got was a bunch of guys who kept doing synchronized dance moves altogether! Really, I had never seen something like that in my life! Idk whether to call it gay or cute. They had the same dance moves like those you see in Korean boy bands! And they were doing it in the club! On the dance floor! There was one particular guy who kept doing this hand gesture:

I don’t want to ~~live on this planet anymore~~ stay in this club anymore.

Told ourselves to bear with it a little more, maybe it was still early. But nah, no sight of hot guys even past midnight. Devastated, we went across the road to NB2 which was twice times more crowded than NB1! Wow, not bad, the more people there are, the higher the chance we would bump into someone hot. With our new found hope, we made our way to the dance floor. Then I got the biggest shock of my life!

Aggressive horny young Korean pervert guys!!! They were everywhere!!!

No no, I am not being judgmental but every step forward, we were grabbed tightly from behind by some dudes! Every single step, I swear! I wouldn’t have exaggerated if it only happened once. Horrified, we sneaked out of the crowd after what seemed like 20 times of groping and ran upstairs for some air. Under a half tipsy condition, I accidentally found my way to the VIP section but was stopped by the bouncers. Confused and half-embarrassed, we wanted to walk away. But for some reason the bouncers just came pulling my hands and invited us inside, leaving me more confused than ever. I guess dressing up sexily really put us to an advantage. But the “sexy” I meant is actually common back here. We weren’t wearing anything extraordinary revealing, but instead just normal dresses plus plain black opaque leggings. But you know what, compared to the girls there, we were like the sex goddess! I know this is unbelievable since we are talking about Korean girls here who are supposedly have pretty faces and long legs. Too bad it’s winter, and during winter these girls visit the club wearing long sleeves, long pants and even worse, sneakers!

Now that shall explain why the bouncers were so keen to invite us into the VIP section. “Bouncers” might be too harsh a word to name these people, since they’re skinny, lean and are of average Asian height. I guess it must be hard to find fat or heavily built people in Korea.

Here comes the best part. Are you ready for it?

We walked around the VIP section and went into the lounge area. Sat down at the bar 2 seats away from 2 guys oh my holy tequila for the power of big bang guess who was that????!

Seungri!!!

Seungri and his male friend just checked us out! HAHAHAHAHA.

Ok la to be honest I didn’t quite recognise him at first. I always thought Seungri looks like a typical Korean so it didn’t occur to me that it was him until Katie pointed it out.

Sure, it was our dream to bump into Big Bang at NB, but who would have thought our dream would actually come true??? Fine, we didn’t meet TOP, but still, meeting Seungri simply meant we were one step closer to Big Bang! Teehee.

I’m not a big fan of Seungri but I cannot tahan these bitches who kept surrounding him! So despite their presence, I went up and danced with him! (with the encouragement of Katie and the effect of tequila of course, else I wouldn’t have had such courage). Man, he sure is skinny! He was wearing a black t-shirt with a mask hung around his neck, a mask which he constantly put on (no point la everyone knows you’re Seungri please). What I dreaded the most happened! Seungri whispered something to me in Korean and I didn’t understand it! Dammit! At that very moment I felt like my whole life had been wasted because I haven’t been learning how to speak Korean! Le sigh. So I told him Hangguk sarang animida (I’m not a Korean), to which he was startled and didn't know how to respond because he can't speak English. Zzzzz why am I so stupid??? :(

After dancing with Seungri for a while, we proceeded elsewhere to look for free drinks. That night we learnt how unnecessary it is to purchase your own drinks in the club if you’re a girl because it’s an easy peasy task to make someone offer you a drink. LOL. And also, because the cheapest drink there cost 10,000 won which is equivalent to RM30 for one small tequila shot! Wtfreak.

The club was small and there was no need to fear about getting lost even without a phone. That night, Katie and I got back to the hotel safely by cab. That was our first night in NB, but not the only night. Went back to the club 2 days after!

Some bastard must have grabbed my wrist real hard.

Nevertheless, it was an unforgettable and awesome night thanks to the presence of Seungri! ♡

Seoul Day 3 - It Snowed!

On day 3 of our Korea trip, we decided to get more sleep ad skipped breakfast. Weather was still effing cold as we stepped outta the hotel. As usual, we took the subway from City Hall station which was right across our hotel.

Spitting seems to be a Korean culture. Everywhere we went, we saw spit on the floor. It was quite a disturbing scene. Extremely disgusting to know that every step you take, you risk dirtying your shoes with someone’s virus :(

This time, we went to Hongdae with an empty stomach hoping to look for Hello Kitty café. Followed the instructions online to no avail. At last, we ended up in Abiko Curry where Big Bang has dined before according to Katie. One does not come all the way to Korea to eat Japanese food. But you know lah, she wouldn’t give up anywhere Big Bang visited XD

Abiko Curry is a small Japanese curry restaurant that has a few branches at different areas. It was full house when we arrived. And since the restaurant was so tiny, we had no choice but to wait outside in the cold.

Ahhhh, if only you understand the joy of being indoor after struggling for hours under the freezing weather!

The curry there was served from level 0 – 4 according to its spiciness. Thinking that Japanese curry can’t be that spicy, I picked Level 3 while Katie picked Level 2.

Level 2 chicken curry. She was disappointed cause it wasn’t chicken cutlet. LOL.

Level 3 pork curry. At least there are visible pieces of pork.

Not until 2 bites or so. The spiciness started to set in. Swear it was crazy!

Gawd. We will never underestimate Japanese curry again! I’m telling you I always love spicy food but this one was too unbearable! And it was only Level 3. What if I ordered Level 4??? Can’t imagine. And even Level 2 was enough to make her start tearing T_T

Finished the rice with plenty of leftover curry. IT WAS THAT SPICY! NOT KIDDING! @!#%&*$*#^&* Wtfreak.

Moving on, we tried Gyeran-ppang and Bungeo-ppang. A hot sweet cake stuffed with a whole egg and fish-shaped waffle filled with red bean paste.

The skin of the egg cake resembles kaya ball but a little sweeter. Imagine eating that sweet skin with egg, especially the egg yolk. Tastes good if you eat them separately, but together it makes a weird combination.

The red bean paste was good though. Sweet skin + sweet fillings. 2 for 1000 won (RM3) only! :)

Randomly come across GAP advertisement at a bus stop. Lookie, the ambassador is here! Hiak hiak.

As usual, tired of shopping and sick of the cold weather, we sat down for a cuppa. One of our missions during the trip was to try as many café as possible! This time, we went to Angel in-us Coffee.

Asked where Angel in-us Coffee was originated from, Katie casually replied that it must be from Korea since it says “The World Best Coffee”! (the grammar, if you geddit. LOL)

By the way, I was wearing the new shoes I bought from Dongdaemun! Awesome high-top sneakers with built-in insole! Makes my legs appear longer XD

Throughout the trip, that was the only day it snowed! At first it was tiny pieces of dust-like flakes and we couldn’t be sure whether it was snow. Thought perhaps someone was burning rubbish or maybe it could be construction dust or something. But then it started snowing at a faster rate with bigger flakes, although not big enough to form the perfect shape of snowflakes.

Less obvious in the camera. See those white falling pieces behind? So excited because it was my first time experiencing snow! Tried to jump here and there and catch the snow like some suaku. LOL.

It was really romantic watching the snow falling continuously from the sky. Instead of hiding from the snow, we stayed outdoor and enjoyed that precious moment. The snow was so calm, so harmless, so blissful, yet so fragile that it melts the moment it reaches the ground . . . Felt so blessed to have been able to watch it at least once.

A random plastic surgery ad at a subway station. Amazing transformation! Each time I see a pretty girl on the street, I start wondering whether she was plastic, then picture how she looked like pre-surgery.

Dinner at a chicken logo place called Yeolbong. Apparently it was owned by Se7en from YG, and the restaurant was frequently visited by YG members including Big Bang and 2NE1.

Okay at least I know two Chinese words there. But no idea what it means. Tsk tsk.

I love taugeh, but taugeh soup tastes way too awful! And since Katie wasn’t a big fan of taugeh, we just left the entire bowl untouched.

Yummy Andong jjimdak - black sauce chicken served with glass noodle! Looks like an ordinary Chinese dish but tasted exceptionally good! Just like Abiko curry, it comes with different level of spiciness. This time we learnt our lesson. Teehee.

Was really full after that hearty meal, but couldn’t give up on supper! Dabao-ed Korean street food back to the hotel to accomplish our mission of trying everything we saw along the street!

Fried chicken looks good, tastes even better! Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside. Hot from the wok accompanied by special sauce, da yums!

What’s so special about this beef patty? It was stuffed with rice cake! So juicy and yummy!

Didn’t buy that many things on the 3^rd day. It wasn’t until later on that we learnt that Hongdae was more happening during night time. Nothing much to buy when we went in the afternoon. Not that many lengzai to see either.

Seoul Day 1 & 2 with Dearest Bff ♡

I have never been colder in my life.

-9 degree celcius at Seoul on the first day! Can you imagine, that’s worse than being kept in a freezer! At first it was quite bearable since I was all wrapped up in my windbreaker, scarf and gloves. But towards the night my hands were all numb even under the gloves and I couldn’t feel my nose anymore. Was so afraid it might fall off without my knowing. Wtfreak.

Irene City Hotel is the most convenient and affordable hotel we managed to find. Located about 5 minutes walk away from City Hall subway station and walking distance from Myeongdong where many of the make up stores gather. The room is really small with hardly any walking space. After placing our luggage at one corner each, we are at the risk of knocking and banging ourselves against the closet, the table, the bed and even the television which is already nearly half the size of the wall! Nevertheless, the room seems new, clean and tidy with basic toiletries and facilities that we need. Best of all, the floor is heated so your feet won’t feel cold even during winter.

Korean instant noodles from GS25 (a mart that can be found everywhere in Seoul, equivalent to 7-11 here) and Tteobokki (rice cake) the night we arrived.

Breakfast was served at Hotel Irene, the main branch of Irene City Hotel located not too far down the street. Buffet style but no variety compared to the usual buffet breakfast we have because only toast, milk, cereal, coffee and tea are served.

Went shopping at Myeongdong on the first day. There were plenty of beauty shops such as Etude House, Missha, Tony Molly, Nature Republic etc along the streets. Most of them are using free samples to entice us into visiting the shops, and when you’re inside, you would feel guilty for taking the samples but not buying anything so you end up paying for masks that you wouldn’t buy otherwise.

Soon we learnt not to just anyhow enter the shops. Politely accepted the free masks from a Tony Molly sales girl and walked on, but guess what? She got angry and snatched it back from us! Fcking mcb rude I swear. From then on we hold a huge grudge against Tony Molly. Pfft.

Coffee break as become a daily must-have throughout our trip.

Every now and then we would pick a cafe and hide from the cold outside, and meanwhile to fully utilize their wifi! Forgot how freezing cold it was until we get out there again.

We read many good reviews on Dongdaemun market so decided to drop by there hoping to get some new clothes for the rest of our trip. Didn’t know which restaurant was good so we simply picked one, turned out it was good!

My all time favourite Kimchi Jjigae with plenty of ingredient! (7500 won)

Doenjang Jjigae (Korean soybean paste stew) tastes good too! Less spicy compared to Kimchi Jjigae. (7000 won)

The restaurant ajusshi picked up our Korean phrase book and started inspecting it. But obviously he didn’t understand any of the English phrases though. In fact the majority of Koreans don’t speak English at all! So if you’re planning to visit Seoul, make sure you prepare a handbook or download some apps into your phone to ease communication.

I failed at speaking Korean though. Didn’t even put in enough effort to learn and replied on Katie all the time. Besides annyeonghaseyo and kamsahamida which I already knew, the only sentences she taught me are “namja chingu eobseoyo” (I don’t have a boyfriend) and “kondom isseoyo?” (do you have a condom?) Omaigawd why did you even teach me these things??? T__________T

But I did use those new things I learnt on one of the days. HAHAHAHA will update on that later on! XD

Besides the restaurants that sell food that almost never goes wrong, there are plenty of street food everywhere you go. To be honest the weather during that time was so cold we just wanted to walk on and get indoor instead of stopping by for street food. But how can anyone skip on these yummy-looking Korean signature snacks?

This was my previous FB profile pic that made people wonder what was that thing we were eating. It was actually Korean corn dog – sausage inside and french fries outside! A great combination or what??? I’m already used to having these 2 things with chili sauce though. But you know, this is not Malaysia and you can’t find chili sauce everywhere you go, so had to settle for ketchup :(

Good Morning City, Midliore and Doota are the few shopping malls we visited at Dongdaemun. All the malls except Doota remind me of Platinum Mall in Bangkok. The building and the shops’ layout especially. The price isn’t as great as Platinum Mall though. Sales item are priced at 10,000 to 25,000 won which is RM30 to RM75. The 10,000 won clothes are very limited and aren’t appealing. But normal items on the rack are overpriced. Left the malls reluctantly with disappointment.

As for Doota, it was a huge departmental store that sells fixed price items. No bargaining here, which made it worse than the previous malls because everything was so expensive!

All I got at Dongdaemun was a pair of high top sneakers, 1 top and 1 dress. Had Korean fish cake, one of the most ordinary street food before leaving.

It could be cooked with spicy soup or normal soup. We tried both and as expected, the spicy one tastes way better!

Later on that day, we went to Ewha Women's University Fashion Street! As it was around the women’s university, there were many fashionable young ladies around. Watching them really made me feel underdressed! Most of them could even walk around with extremely thin leggings under such freezing cold weather while I was shivering like mad! Did some amount of shopping there. Thought it was way better compared to Dongdaemun. Leasson learnt: always stick to the street shopping instead of shopping malls! Teehee.

Had dinner at a cosy looking little restaurant around our hotel.

It looked more cosy than it actually was, because there was no heater inside as it was a drinking place. You’re supposed to get a couple of Soju and warm yourself up.

Soju in restaurant is usually priced at 3000 won (RM9). But in the convenient store, it was sold for only 1900 won (less than RM6). Yet we thought the RM15 Soju in Air Asia flight was cheap! LOL.

Fish roe stew (8000 won). Expected it to come together with not just fish roe but other ingredients as well, but wtfreak the whole bowl was filled with fish roe! A bit jelak by the time we finished half of it.

Rice that comes with fried egg. Always love the texture of Korean rice!

Unknown object found in the soup. We called it sperm fish. I was tagged in this photo, so sis eventually asked me how does a sperm fish taste like -.-

Korean snacks and fish cake for supper! Snacks here cost RM3.50 minimum. I would have expected that bottle of normal tea to cost RM1 but it was x3 more.

One-week vacation with my Seoul mate Katie!

The weather here is seoul cold! -9 degree celcius yesterday. Face and fingers were all numb.

Where's the Party 2 @ Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia

Remember the previous Where’s the Party held at Sepang Gold Coast? I was working for the event back then but this time, for Where’s the Party 2, I was one of the invited bloggers who had the privilege to take part in the 12-hour-party with Carlsberg!

Departed from Stadium Shah Alam by the media bus. So where’s the party held this time? It was at none other than Carlsberg Malaysia’s Brewery at Shah Alam, the facility where the first Carlsberg beer was locally brewed in 1972.

Soren Ravn, Managing Director of Carlsberg Malaysia said “We are thrilled at the extensive reach of Carlsberg’s “Where’s the Party?” and the immense support and interest garnered from consumers. The main objectives of the party is to create memorable, inspiring moments and experiences for consumers as a way of encouraging them to be bold and stepping up to do the right things. When they think of celebrations and achievements, they will think of the next level with ‘That Calls for a Carlsberg!’”

The brewery was set up like a amusement park with all the outdoor games for us partygoers. Before then we were assigned our own, unique RFID (Radio-Frequency Identity) tags, which enabled us to collate points from the games they played and redeem prizes accordingly. These RFID tags were linked to our Facebook accounts and enabled us to update our Facebook status simply by tagging on the “Like” stations throughout the brewery.

Familiar faces everywhere despite there being 2000 guests this time.

There were food and beer counters along the road heading to the game stations. Nasi lemak, satay, fried nuggets, hotdogs, burgers, ice-cream potong etc.

Satay with extra beer flavour? That’s the way man! XD

The party incorporated an ‘amusement park’ theme, complete with childhood favourites such as a ferris wheel, pirate ship and an adult carousel. Some other traditional fun fair booths also included Ring a Green, Toss & Score, Duck Hunt, ‘Our holes, Your balls’ & Wild Wild West.

That’s me trying to catch a rubber duckling with Carlsberg logo attached underneath. Each player was given 3 chances. Each duckling with the logo would score us 10 points. I must say I was pretty lucky that day. Teehee.

On the other hand I was not that good in shooting. Must get a toy gun and practise it more often at home :(

Pink cotton candy ♡

All the game stations closed around 7pm when the performances started on the stage. Was rather worn out by then after running here and there trying to score at the games.

Locally acclaimed performers Dennis Lau and Shawn Lee presented a thumping combination of an electric violin and beat boxing. Special group appearances by famous Korean star, Lee An, the unforgettably spontaneous star rapper of Carlsberg Malaysia, Mr Soren Ravn along with violinist Dennis Lau awed the party crowd further.

Home-grown bands Crossfire and Paperplane Pursuit had the crowd dancing to their chart topping hits.

World renowned girl band ‘High on Heels’ also made their first appearance in Malaysia and entertained the crowd with their creative mix of LIVE classical instruments with song mixing on their turntables.

“Where’s The Party” came to a close around 2am the following morning after several hours of non-stop music with international DJs; Sophie Sugar from the UK and Hiloco from Japan.

In line with Carlsberg’s philosophy of responsible drinking, Carlsberg encouraged all partygoers to enjoy responsibly and in moderation.

As part of the ‘Enjoy Responsibly’ campaign, Carlsberg planned engagement activities for consumers such as the Alcohol Testing Zone, where consumers had their alcohol level tested while partying and the Drunk Man Zone which enabled consumers to play an android game which showed them the effect of excessive alcohol consumption.

Goodie bag for the media which consists of a giant Carlsberg bottle (empty one lah :P) and a pretty Carlsberg glass! Thanks to Carlsberg Malaysia and MHB, I get to experience the awesome exclusive by-invitation-only party!

To celebrate its eights successful year of operation in Malaysia, Wacoal Malaysia Sdn Bhd hosted a cocktail party on 16 December 2011, at The Saujana Hotel Kuala Lumpur.

In the spirit of a bonded friendship, approximately 100 business partners and associates of Wacoal’s turned up at the event themed “Come Rain or Come Shine”. Goodie bag upon arrival accompanied by red wine, beer, cocktails and finger food. Some photos following are credited to Zoey.

In fact it’s so personal and pointless I’m not sure if you even want to scroll down. Teehee. Any idea what this post is gonna be about?

Did some adjusting to the photos to reveal the actual hair colour. They even show the colour of my lens clearly! XD

United Buddy Bears World Tour @ Pavilion, KL

Woke up early 2 days ago for the opening ceremony of United Buddy Bears launch at Pavilion.

A little fact for those who have no clue about the bears. United Buddy bears are a series of painted, life size bear sculptures from Berlin, Germany. The first bear was created by Kluas and Eva Herlitz from Germany.

The United Buddy Bears World Tour started in June – November 2002 in Berlin, Germany. So far the bears have travelled 5 continents and Malaysia is the 23rd stop and 17th country on the global tour.

The mission of the United Buddy Bears World tour is to deliver the message of tolerance, peaceful co-existence and support for children in need. The bears have become a symbol to many around the world as ambassadors to peace and unity.

A Darker Shade of Maroon

It’s 2am right now and ‘m really sleepy because I didn’t have any coffee or tea today. I could be heading to bed straight right now but I don’t wanna abandon my blog! Promised to post about my new hair, so here it is!

Got my hair done at New Top Point salon in Muar. The main branch is at JB. This year, my uncle opened a new branch here which makes me a happy girl because gone are the days when I had to travel all the way down south for a trustworthy professional hair cut! I can get it done right here! Teehee.

See how long my hair used to be. Must be really tiring for Rino but he seemed really happy? LOL.

Love the classy ambience at the salon but the lighting made my photos blurrrrrrr! *sulk* Didn’t wanna use the flash cause it wouldn’t show the beautiful background.

Finally getting rid of my ugly black roots! So happy wit my new hair colour now. I hope it won’t fade and become brown instead.

Tadah! Pretty, isn’t it? The hair I mean! No I did not perm it. The hairdresser blew it with the hairdryer. Really satisfied with my new hairstyle. It looks so much healthier and prettier now XD

Anyway I took like 100+ photos of myself at the salon that day but most of them turned out bad! So these are the only ones that can be seen publicly. Oh well. To make it up, I forced my brother to snap photos of me today. HAHA. Will post them up tomorrow if I’m not too lazy.

Meanwhile, check out where I always do my manicure and pedicure. It’s at the same salon. Sherwin, the nail artist was on leave so I couldn’t do it. Went there again today but unfortunately her hand was injured by boiling water. Wtfreak. Get well soon babe! I shall have no pretty nails until she recovers. Will probably borrow mum’s OPI and do it myself T_T

No Longer Butt Length

Greetings from Muar! It’s good to be home yo. Took a bus back this time because obviously no one would come back here on Tuesday, and I wouldn’t want to wait until the weekend since there might be job offers. Indeed, just received a text today that I gotta work on Sunday morning. So looks like I won’t be staying home for long.

It seems like my life revolves around the ex-es. Not sure if that’s a good thing. The other day my ex whom shall not be named, let’s call him S to make my story-telling easier (wow I make him sound like Serena in Gossip Girl, damn cool or what?), offered to fetch me to the bus station but ffk-ed me because ~~I’m the bottom of his priority~~ he couldn’t finish his college work on time. So whatever la I know his “pattern” so despite his earlier promise, I didn’t hold any grudges but decided to take a taxi to the bus station by myself. RM27 from Pyramid to Terminal Bersepadu Selatan, not too bad I guess.

Anyway so I woke up around 11am, dressed up and did my make up, walked to Pyramid along with my luggage because I had yet to buy sis’s belated birthday present. Really failed at buying girls’ present because every time I see something nice, I decide to keep it for myself T_T At last I made up my mind to get her 3 Topshop underwear. So I was lugging my luggage like a superstar heading towards Topshop with my head held high, then I saw a familiar face walking towards my direction near the main entrance. Guess who? My other ex, D whom I had not contacted for almost a year! The last time I saw him was at Sushi Zanmai, during which he appeared right after my friend asked about him. It was more than a coincidence I swear! Sometimes I just can’t help but start questioning on fate.

And after all, Sunway Pyramid was where we first met.

S ffk-ed me and out of nowhere D came for my rescue?! HAHA. Didn’t have to take a taxi at last. I went for lunch and shopped for sis’s present while he finished up his task, an hour later we headed to TBS that far away place that I really hate. It surprised me that all this while he has been stalking my FB statuses. He read every single one of them and knows every part of my life like his own’s! Wtfreak. Idk if I should feel proud or freaked out. I don’t think he used to care half as much when we were together back then :(

End of story.

Must be disappointing if you were expecting some juicy gossips. Teehee.

Now let’s talk about Muar. Woke up at 2.30pm this afternoon feeling shitty for having slept through almost half of the day. Dressed up and went out for super late brunch (at approximately 4pm T_T).

Does your char kuey tiao come with otak-otak? Be jealous much! XD

Went to New Top Point to do my hair. Cut + dye. Don’t ask me how much it costs because it was a complimentary service. My uncle (dad’s youngest bro) owns the salon. Funny when sis and I entered the salon, we just sat down and chit-chat with the hairdresser for a few minutes after which he washed my hair. Then I heard sis exclaimed in surprise because all the time while since we arrived, grandpa was sitting right behind dyeing his hair! HAHAHAHAHA we totally ignored his presence wtf! EPIC! ROFL!!!

Will blog about my new hair soon! For now, just a photo of my new maroon hair. It’s so much shorter now! No longer reaches my butt. Teehee. The colour isn’t so obvious unless it’s under the light. My hair was badly damaged so I decided to go for a darker shade to create an illusion of healthy locks. What do you think? :)

By the way, remember Baby Jocelyn, my youngest baby cousin whom I blogged about back then? She’s 9 months old and has grown some teeth now! So sad cause she cries every time I go near her. Aunt said she probably finds my thick eyeliner creepy. FML I hope my kids won’t share the same fear next time wtf.

At last she let me carry her after I showed her my camera and told her we were gonna take a photo together! Oh my, can’t believe she’s as much a camwhore as I! And she was so fascinated with my ring. I have a good feeling she’ll grow up to be like me one day! *proud*

Her eldest bro reminded me that I’ll be 42 years old by the time Jocelyn turns 21. I’ll be an old auntie by then! Gawd. I wonder how it’s gonna be like when that day finally comes. Don’t really want to think about it. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Welcome Back Katie!

My dearest soul mate Katie was finally back from Melbourne for summer holiday! Haven’t been able to spend much time with her the last time she came back since she couldn’t stay long. This time I’ll make sure we have plenty of days to hang out together and share our daily gossips!

By the way if you have followed me on Twitter or FB, you would have read that I’m going to South Korea this January! Katie and I just booked our flight yesterday. 2-way return flight for only RM900 after tax, insurance, baggage and food! Omgosh I’ so excited for the trip already! It’ll be freezing cold on January but anyhow, trip to Korea with my bff, it’s gonna be seoul fun!!! Now all I need to do is work harder to pay for expenses in Korea and refrain myself from spending off my money on shopping before the trip! Teehee.

Papermate InkJoy

So recently, I was given a whole load of pens by Papermate for a review. I know some of you who are working don’t even touch pens anymore except perhaps those shopping times when you sign your credit card bill. But I as a university student still stick to the traditional way of paper and pen. In fact, ever since young I’ve always thought of writing as a fun activity (probably a habit acquired through copying homework wtf). So even when I’m home alone and bored, I would occasionally find a pen and scribble some nonsense on any empty paper.

The new range of pens by Papermate is named “InkJoy” which easily summarize my joy in writing (it’s true, I’m not bullshitting).

Let’s start with the most economically-priced range, shall we?

InkJoy 100.
* 2 sizes - 0.5 or 0.7
* 3 colours - Black Blue Red
* CAP pens

I don’t recall having owned any capped pens ever since the beginning of time. Always find it troublesome to remove the cap and put it back after using. InkJoy 100 does not come with rubberised grip but it’s triangularly shaped for ease of grip.

The ink was just nice and not too light for my likings. I personally prefer 0.7 over 0.5 though as it is much smoother and it enables me to write faster. Anyway, these pens cost RM1.00 each only even if you don’t buy in bulk! XD

* 2 sizes - 0.5 or 0.7
* 3 colours - Black Blue Red
* CLICK pens

Basically there isn’t much difference from the previous range apart from the appearance. 20 cents more costly, perhaps to save you the inconvenience of removing the caps? Like I said, the ink of 0.7 is smoother compared to 0.5. Convenient and cheap, this is definitely my kind of pen for college work!

To prevent the ink from drying out prior to use, each new pen is covered at the nib.

Yesterday was 111111, today is 121111 and 131111 comes afterwards~ *sing Rebecca Black’s tune wtfreak* lame I know!

So it was a significant day everyone was talking about. My twitter timeline was flooded with plenty of 111111 tweets, some sending good wishes and some complaining about the day being overrated without realizing they were one of those who contributed to the trending of the topic XD

All I know is, there were many marriages held on this special day. However, some claimed that 11^th of November is a day when single people gather and celebrate? It sure makes sense that 111111 are for the singles, but I thought 11.11.11 comes in pairs. Then someone argued that it’s 1+1 instead of 1+0 HAHAHAHAHA he is so right omgosh if you actually get it!

So just now I was looking through my photo albums searching for photos to post up. But heck, it seems like these days I am taking less and less photos, not even vain camwhore photos of myself! All I found was old photos from my camera which are yet to be uploaded. And some that was already uploaded into the ex-boyfriend’s laptop but accidentally deleted by me while clearing the files after the dramatic break up. FML :(

Oh yea, in case you don’t know, I’ve been happily living my single life for a while. It’s pretty sad things had to end this way but I’m really glad it ended for good. No point dragging it on only to end up getting hurt even more. It wasn’t a happy ending but I no longer hold any bitter grudge. Not gonna do the story telling here since it wasn’t something so proud to begin with. For now I will just look ahead of life and be hopeful, because I know I am one step closer to finding my perfect guy *dreams* :)

Talk about guys, there is one who is really getting on my nerves right now! Ugh not sure if I should even mention it here in case he reads my blog. But I assume not! (whatever, if you read this just shut up, go face the wall and reflect on your own behaviour 面壁思过 wtf ). How would I know you were actually going after me when all you did was sending me flirty texts and all??? For all I know, flirty guys like you don’t take me seriously so I wouldn’t even consider it. Then you get all upset and say I am being judgmental, proceeded to claim that all girls are the same, judge you before they even know you blabla. Hellooooooo, that is the impression you give us! Then you expect I would regret it and apologize a few days later like “the girls” as you claimed? Well too bad, I’m not one of the girls! And all the self-pitying for not getting a girlfriend because you haven’t been dating for a while and you forgot how to woo a girl! LOL! Please, you might wanna consider a new approach instead of being all flirty and risked getting portrayed as a player! Pfft.

Well then, I just ranted one paragraph about you upset lonely boy. If it weren’t the self-pitying (and ironically, the over-confidence at the same time), I might actually think you were cute. Not that you’re worth being mentioned here but you know, just to express how stupid some guys really are. No offence to all the other guys out there! XD

Fellow bloggers and I arrived at 7.30pm to the restaurant which was already filled with diners. Instead of using traditional stove, Umami adopts the new technology and takes cooking into a higher level.

We were served with 4 types of soup: Tomyam (my all-time favourite), Herbal, Pepper and Fish head soup. I would highly recommend tomyam to trigger your taste buds and herbal to soothe your throat when it gets a little too spicy.

Self-service as usual. You can get as much as you want provided if you can finish them la XD

Freshly prepared seafood.

Crabs, Clams, mussels, snails, scallops and whatever shellfish you name it, all of them were available at Umami. High five if you’re a seafood person like me!

Best abalone I have ever tasted (seriously, who cares whether it’s genuine). So sweet and juicy! Kind wish I had eaten more of it T_T

Chicken skewers barbequed with honey. The taste was absolutely different from your usual satay.

Smoked and fried chicken wings were finger-licking good!

Of course, I wouldn’t forget my favourite of all - sliced lamb! For this, you gotta master the art of cooking to make sure it isn’t overcooked. I like it medium to preserve the tenderness *yums*

Dessert is a must-have after every meal. Although I was really full, I didn’t want to miss out the wide variety of ice-cream being served! Took 6 scoops in total to try out the different flavours! LOL.

It was indeed a pleasurable dining experience at Umami Steamboat. You would be fed all the way to the top of your throat with worthwhile ingredients only for the price of RM26.80+! What’s more, there’s an ongoing promotion of “Buy 2 Free 1” which makes it even cheaper!

The blur princess hardly knew what was happening in class as she was so busy with her big celebrations throughout the entire week. Got her some really pink presents ♡

We were happy with the giant bowl of chicken soup (although mushroom soup would have been better). Food there was good and the combo that comes with soup, main course and brownie for only RM18.90 was super dai! We were so full at the end of the day we nearly dai wtf.

Okay I know that hideous pink crown looks a bit lala. HAHAHAHA but but, it’s my attempt to beautify the birthday girl T_T *failed*

Jess's 21st Birthday @ Nero Vivo

It was my first time dining at Nero Vivo, an Italian restaurant located at Jalan Ceylon, down the road of Changkat. Lovely ambience for a romantic night out or even a gathering dinner with a group of friends, provided you don’t make too much noise. Well, it’s a classy restaurant after all you see. Teehee.

For starter, we had Antipasto di pesce misto per due o quattro persone (wtf?) or in simpler terms that we understand: grilled prawns and baby squid, fin de Claire oyster, salmon carpaccio, stewed baby octopus, yabbiies Catalana, crab cake, gratinated mussels, octopus salads and zucchini fritti (RM48).

No regrets ordering this starter because all of them are delicious! The portion for 2 is more than enough for 4 of us. You don’t wanna end up too full for the main course.

Took us a while before we tried the food since Jess and I were busy snapping photos XD

Rack of lamb crusted with herbs and goat cheese, turned vegetables and pumpkin mash (RM80).

It was medium cooked just the way we liked it. Half bloody and tender *yums* A little pricey though.

Black ink tagliattele with yabbies, crustacean sauce, fresh cervil parsley and olive oil (RM50).

I was expecting plenty of black ink sauce but neh, only the pasta was black. The yabbies were replaced by tiger prawns with extremely juicy prawn heads! High cholesterol alert! :x

Instead of the usual clubbing R&B or hip-hop rock & roll, we indulged in carefree and fun-filled Chicken Dance, YMCA etc!

Loo's 23rd Birthday Party

2^nd of October was Loo’s birthday. Can’t believe he’s just turned 23! From the way he behaves, I would always think of him as a 18-year-old! Teehee.

I always have problem deciding what to wear for barbeque party! Bbq is supposed to be oily, smoky and fun, so it’s totally normal if one were to wear singlet and shorts. But then again, it’s a birthday party! Gotta show some respect by dressing up well, no? So in the end I went all pink for the bimbotic birthday boy!

Loo’s condo was located at KL city. A few minutes drive away from Pavilion! Okay better not reveal the name in case some gay stalker go look for him. Hiak hiak. We had 2 barbeque pits near the swimming pool all for ourselves!

Plenty of yummy food that night! Crazy boy prepared them in such big quantity, there were so much leftover at the end of the night. Chicken wings were well-marinated; Pork sausages tasted really good; and not forgetting mushrooms with capsicums (which I used to direct translate as lantern chili until Loo corrected me XD) which was so delicious but took forever to be cooked!

Code Friday @ Neverland KL

As stated in one of my recent posts here, Pernod Ricard Malaysia launched its corporate social responsibility programme, ‘Be In Control. If You Drink, Don’t Drive’ on 30^th September (last Friday) at Neverland KL. In case you haven’t heard of it, Neverland is a new club yet to be opened located right behind Borneo Baruk Club. A pretty cool place even from the outside!

Upon arrival, we were given a glass each to sign our names on.

Don’t play play, have to adopt responsible drinking once you sign on it! Teehee.

Oh well, not that I own a car. So I’m probably the most responsible drinker before I even sign on it! Placing my pretty glass on the stage together with the others’.

The interesting part of this event was that most of the guests were wearing the same white statement tee. Apparently Pernod Ricard hired a team of creative artists from paintlust.net to customize our names on the t-shirts!

21st Birthday Celebration @ Glory Beach Resort

This is my super duper belated birthday party post! Done editing the photos a month ago and saved them in my pendrive, but I must had accidentally deleted them while clearing my files. No choice but to transfer everything from my camera again. After all, how can I not post up photos from my 21st birthday celebration? O.o

My dearest ~~gay friend~~ Loo who drove us to Glory Beach Resort to get things prepared. Really appreciate your help! Teehee.

According to Angela who is from PD, Sunshine Bay is a better place to BBQ since the pits are located next to the beach. So instead of BBQ-ing at Glory, we reserved a pit at Sunshine Bay which is around 10 minutes drive away. Rental fee is RM35 from anytime during the evening until the next morning. The only things they provide are the pit and the net though. You gotta prepare your own charcoal, skewers and food.

It was quite a nice place to BBQ except there was nowhere except the stones and the beach where we could sit. Be prepared to embrace the nature if you were to go there.

Went back to the resort for the after-party. Washed ourselves off the barbeque smoke and stains, then it was time for card games and booze!

I had a great time unwrapping them and I must say that they made me an even happier birthday girl. It’s good to be 21, finally.

My First Trip to Kota Kinabalu

My first time to Kota Kinabalu was indeed an unexpected last minute trip!

Last Thursday, I received a call from my agent proposing a “crazy request”. At first I thought it probably involved me having to parade on the street with my bikini or something, but apparently he wanted to fly me to KK for Hennessy Artistry in two days time!

Flight tickets and accommodation provided for! I managed to nego for a reasonable payment up to my expectation, so I accepted the offer despite my already-hectic schedule!

My last minute return flight cost them approximately RM600! With that amount, I can already fly back and forth to Hong Kong! Flew there on Saturday morning and came back on Sunday afternoon. The trip was indeed short, but a fun and worthwhile experience! It wasn’t easy having to wake up early after working for Arthur’s Day on the previous night. Besides, I had to prepare for my presentation on Monday morning once I got back! I was so stressed I thought I was gonna collapse.

Thanks to Hayden aka Shin Chan from KK, we managed to squeeze in time in between our work to explore KK town. Without his help, we would have spent so much on taxi fares! Taxis there are ruthless and they never go by meter! RM10 minimum for every ride -.-

KK Times Square Hotel was located at the same building as White Room where Hennessy Artistry was held. In fact we could see the entrance to the event from our window! LOL.

Our spacious cozy room was initially meant for the boss who didn’t turn up XD

Dropped by Yoyo Café to get some RM3.80 bubble tea. Yoyo Café in KK is equivalent to Chatime here. Their most popular bubble tea shop!

They sell some really nice pastry too. The freshly-baked croissants with the aroma of butter were so tempting!

Back to the hotel to get ready for work.

We can haz blue and pink eyes. Wtfreak.

The next morning, Hayden brought us to Gaya Street Sunday Market!

It was a hang out spots for both locals and tourists.

Dropped by Tong Hing Supermarket to get the local fresh milk.

Desa milk. Can only be found there I guess.

Caely finished almost the whole 1 litre of milk and claimed to be feeling so milky she wanted to puke XD

Sabah Tourism Board meant for tourists like us? Ngek ngek.

The weather at KK was so much hotter I swear! Could easily become a sexy tanned if I were to stay there any longer. Jeez.

It was fun shopping around the market although it isn’t as good as Chatuchak. As usual, most of the stalls are selling similar stuff.

There were even a few pet stalls! Adorable puppies including Golden Retriever and German Shepherd!!!

After leaving the market, we came to this Caprilla ice-cream truck and joined the queue. Hayden’s favourite ice-cream in town!

Was amused by his envelope-liked wallet.

Apparently it is the might wallet from US. It won’t tear no matter how hard you try. Awesome!

Stumbled upon Share Tea from Taiwan which hired Eric Tsang as their ambassador??? LOL!

Heard there’s one at Times Square. Still prefer Gong Cha though.

Our return flight was at 3pm so had to rush to the airport after a quick dim sum lunch.

That sums up my short KK trip! It was quite a small peaceful town similar to Kuching. I would definitely visit again to check out the mountain and islands! Not for work the next time, I hope! :)

Bangkok Trip Part 3 - Chatuchak Market

If you’re planning a trip to Bangkok, make sure you go during the weekend so you won’t miss out Chatuchak market!

On the second last day of our trip, we woke up early in the morning and took the train to Mo Chit BTS station.

Arrived at Chatuchak weekend market! I was really excited looking at thousands of stalls with pretty stuff ready to be bargained! By the way, all my travel partners said they always had a hard time looking for me cause my hair length and colour and my body resembles most of the Thai girls! Wtfreak.

Coconut ice-cream is a must-try! There were so many tourists queuing for the ice-cream!

So refreshing~

Was really tired after a few hours of shopping so we simply looked for some food stalls and took a rest. No photos of food though since they were awful. Don’t expect to find nice food at Chatuchak as they’re all pricey and yucky targeting poor tourists like us. The snacks along the streets are cheap and nice though.

New rings I bought! Was looking sweaty after walking miles over every corner of the market.

It started raining cats and dogs when we were about to leave. Had no choice but to run all the way back to the train station alongside many other tourists. Never gotten so drenched in my life before.

No it wasn’t the water splashing festival! It was a rather fun and memorable experience though.

Our initial plan was to visit one of the clubs at RCA but they were all closed when we reached there! Apparently it was the Buddhist Lent Festival so they had to halt their operation for a week. Bad luck!

Had dinner at the hotel while waiting for the rain to cease. Turned out the food there was quite affordable and yummy too! *happy*

Since our clubbing plan was canceled, we went for foot massage instead. For the price of RM20, you can enjoy an hour of massage after a tiring day of ~~touring~~ shopping! Again, it's a must-have when you visit Thailand!

Business was overwhelming so we had to wait for a bit.

Loo made a crude comment saying that we looked like prostitutes being displayed to attract customers. Pfft!

Enjoyed the massage so much I even forgot to snap some photos! I really sympathize the masseurs since they had to service the customers continuously one after another. No break in between! Heard that they don’t get paid much either :(

Sawadeeka pedo clown! HAHA.

We can haz pork burger from Mc Donald’s!!!

Remember, you must try their McD pork burger in Thailand! Your trip would be incomplete if you don’t do so! No pork burger in Malaysia! Grrr.

Anyway, look forward to my Bangkok Trip Part 4 as I will update on the shopping malls and sum up my Bangkok trip this year! :)
